Yoga Classes

The teaching style of all the Yoga classes we offer has its roots in the Sivananda tradition which is based on classical Hatha Yoga.  This ancient system has stood the test of time and found popularity with people around the world since it was first brought to the west by pioneering Yoga Masters in the 1950s and 1960s.

The Yoga classes follow a set structure that involves: Posture practice (Asanas), breathing exercises (Pranayama) and deep relaxation (Yoga Nidra).

The set of postures that is practiced will vary from class to class but will nearly always include forward bends, backward bends, side bends, twists, inversions and balancing postures to ensure all parts of the body are used in the session. Warm-up exercises will precede the postures in order to prepare muscles and joints for the positions and as in classical Yoga the postures will be held still for a while.
