Yoga Classes

The teaching style of all the Yoga classes I offer has its roots in the Sivananda tradition which is based on classical Hatha Yoga.  This ancient system has stood the test of time and found popularity with people around the world since it was first brought to the west by pioneering Yoga Masters in the 1950s and 1960s.

The Yoga classes follow a set structure that involves: Posture practice (Asanas), breathing exercises (Pranayama) and deep relaxation (Yoga Nidra). Some form of meditation practice might also be included.

The set of postures that is practiced will vary from class to class but will nearly always include forward bends, backward bends, side bends, twists, inversions and balancing postures to ensure all parts of the body are used in the session. Warm-up exercises will precede the postures in order to prepare muscles and joints for the positions and as in classical Yoga the postures will be held still for a while.

Mondays:

  • 19:30-20:30 Beginners/Intermediate Yoga Course (New 14-week Winter course will be running 7th January - 8th April. Advance booking is required.)

Wednesdays:

  • 18:30-19:30 Gentle Yoga Course (New 10-week Winter course will be running 6th February - 10th April. Advance booking is required.)

  • 19:45-20:45 Beginners/Intermediate Yoga Course (New 10 week Winter course will be running 6th February - 10th April. Advance booking is required.)

  Thursdays:

  • 18:30-19:30 Beginners/Intermediate Yoga Course (New 12-week Autumn course will be running 10th January - 11th April. There is no class on 7th February and 4th April. Advance booking is required.)
